Happy Valentine’s Day! Today is the day we celebrate love. Do dogs experience love? Yes! Science shows that our dogs feel emotion just like we do. One study at Emory University in Atlanta, (click on the link to find out more) monitored neural activity in the brain through MRI after exposing dogs to their favorite human’s scent. Through MRI, scientists determined the canine reward center in the brain (caudate nucleus) was activated with just one sniff. In fact, multiple studies have proven that dogs feel a range of emotion (yes, love!) just like we do. Hug your dog and share the love today!
